If you need to use a Boom Lift with a boom length of 11 metres or more, you are required to hold a nationally recognised WorkSafe Licence to Perform High Risk Work (WP).

Our trainers are experienced and accredited with the EWPA (Elevating Work Platform Association of Australia Inc.) and WorkSafe Victoria approved and will guide you in obtaining an EWP license or certificate.
Boom Lift over 11 metres (Licence to Perform High Risk Work - WP)
Our One Day Boom Lift training course is designed for people who have had little, or no previous boom lift operation experience. It is also suitable for companies who want to ensure their operators receive training in the use of boom lifts. The One Day Boom Lift training course provides comprehensive boom lift training as well as testing, to obtain a nationally recognised licence to Perform High Risk Work- WP (EWP licence). This course is conducted at our training centre in Kilsyth. Class sizes are small with a maximum of 4-5 participants.
Boom Lift Training Subjects covered:
- Identifying workplace hazards
- Hazard control measures
- Choosing the right EWP
- Pre and post operational checks
- Setting up the EWP
- Operating the EWP
- Shut down and secure procedures
- Relevant Victorian OH&S Requirements and Duty of Care
Participants will receive both theory and practical boom lift training, although they are expected to learn the course material before attending the course.
Boom Lift training courses are held regularly at our training centre in Kilsyth and can also be conducted for employees at their company’s premises or at an equipment hire company.
Boom Lift Assessment Package (Experienced operators):
This is available for operators who are very experienced in the operation of boom lifts. Participants must learn the course materials thoroughly before attending. We are happy to email you the course material without making a booking. In this way you can start learning the theory and then you can ring us when you have time to come in and do your assessment. We do understand that the construction industry is often busy and unpredictable. Assessments are able to be conducted 6 days a week at our Kilsyth Training Centre or onsite at your premises. Assessment times are flexible according to your working arrangements and you will need to allow approximately 3 hours for the assessment.
Boom Lift Training Course outcomes:
On successful completion of the assessment (theory and practical), participants will be issued an interim Licence to Perform High Risk Work - WP (EWP licence), which is valid for 60 days. Within this 60 days, participants will need to go to Australia Post, show 100 points of identification, have their photo taken (or provide a passport quality photo) and pay $60 to WorkSafe Victoria who will then send out the five year EWP licence.

- 100 points of ID will be required with lodgement of paperwork at Australia Post.
- Participants will need to be able to work at heights.
How to book an EWP training course:
- Please read the pre-enrolment information and other related policies on our "Student Information" page prior to booking.
- Bookings can be made by telephoning our office.
- If calling out of business hours, leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible.
- A deposit to hold your place in the course will be required on booking. This can be paid by credit card over the phone, by direct deposit into our bank account, or in person at our office. This deposit is refundable if at least 3 days notice is given before the scheduled course. The balance of the payment is required on the day.
- Let us know if you wish to take advantage of our payment plan and we will advise you of what you will need to bring on the day of training.
- Companies booking in employees do not need to pay a deposit, and will be invoiced.

All persons doing a One Day Boom Lift course will have the option of attending a Yellow Card (Scissor Lift) course for $140.
Boom Lift Assessment Package

$280* per person at our Kilsyth Training Centre. Assessments are held each Tuesday at 5.00pm, or at other times by negotiation. Call our office for more details.
Onsite Boom Lift Assessment Package
(For experienced operators)
$350* per person at your premises ($280* for each person thereafter)
*plus $60.00 WorkSafe licence fee (payable at Australia Post)
All courses are GST free
A payment plan is available. Payments may be made over 6-8 weeks via the Ezypay system of automatic direct debits.
