Order Picker Training / Stock Picker Training and Licence Testing
An Order Picker (Stock Picker) is a type of industrial truck that allows the operator to pick stock at an elevated level.  It has a platform on which the operator stands, that is raised to the height of the storage pallets.

Start Training can conduct order picker training and testing at our training centre in Kilsyth, or onsite at your work place.  Our course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to safely and competently operate an order picking truck.  Successful assessment will result in the nationally recognised order picker Licence to Perform High Risk Work (LO).

  • Forklift Balance and Stability?
  • Safe Working Load (SWL)
  • Loading and Unloading from Racks and Stacks?

  • Recharging?
  • Pre and Post Operational Safety Checks
  • Practical Order Picker Driving and Operation Instruction?
  • Site Risk Assessment?
  • Relevant Victorian OH&S Requirements and Duty of Care


Order Picker Training Prerequisites include:

You need to be 18 years of age or over.
You will need to have photo identification on the day of the course (Australian Driver’s Licence, Passport or Keypass Card)

You will need 100 points of identification when you go to the Post Office after your assessment
Basic English skills are required, at least to a level so as to be able to do the assessment in English.
Participants will be sent a training manual that they will need to learn before their course.

Onsite: Onsite training and assessment (at your premises) is $300 per person and $250 per person thereafter. 

Assessment only (for experienced operators who do not require training) is $250 for one person and $180 for each person thereafter.

At our training centre: Courses are available at our training centre for $280 per person (including assessments).  

If you are an experienced operator and require an assessment only, the cost at our training centre is $180.

An additional fee to WorkSafe Victoria of $60 is payable.
