FIRST AID TRAINING COURSE STRUCTURE

Our most popular & Nationally Recognised First Aid Training Course is completed through a combination of Face to Face learning and an online learning component that you can complete in the comfort of your own home prior to the class.

The practical component is completed at one of our locations spread across Melbourne and you will learn from our highly qualified team of First Aid trainers.

Our First Aid Training is conducted at our all four of our main facilities located at Ferntree Gully, Sunshine West, Campbellfield and Carrum Downs. During your training course you will have access to our full facilities including free fresh coffee, a selection of free refreshments and access to vending machines.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We conduct First Aid Training at our Ferntree Gully, Carrum Downs, Campbellfield and Sunshine West training centres.

Our Ferntree Gully facility is located at Unit 3, 1825 Ferntree Gully Road, VIC. You can find our building behind Burdens Plumbtec (the large blue building). We conduct Forklift, Order Picker, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform and White Card courses at our Ferntree Gully facility.

Our Sunshine West training centre is located at 16 Enterprise Way, Sunshine West and we also conduct Working at Heights, Confined Space, Elevated Work Platform, White Card and Yellow Card courses at our Sunshine West training centre.

Our Carrum Downs training centre is located at 8 Sonia Street, Carrum Downs and we also conduct Order Picker, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, White Card and Yellow Card courses at our Carrum Downs training centre.

Our Campbellfield training centre is located at 2 The Crossway, Campbellfield and we also conduct Order Picker, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, White Card and Yellow Card courses at our Campbellfield training centre.

A food truck visits Start Training’s Ferntree Gully Road facility every weekday (Monday to Friday) at 9.45am. This service offers a wide range of hot and cold food and snacks including sandwiches, pies, fruit, confectionery and drinks.

We have a student kitchen / cafe area with free fresh fruit, free fresh coffee and free biscuits. The kitchen area contains a large fridge, microwaves, toaster and a sandwich press that are free to be used by our students if they wish to bring their own food for the time they are with us.

We have vending machines located in our Ferntree Gully Road facility featuring a selection of drinks and snacks. The drinks vending machine serves Coca Cola, energy drinks and coffee milk amongst others and can accept coins, card (pay pass) and notes ($5 or $10 notes only). We also have a snack machine serving a variety of chips and confectionery which is coin operated only.

There are a number of shops and takeaways within a short distance of our Ferntree Gully facility including bakeries located at the Mountain Gate shopping centre, Red Rooster, On It Burgers, McDonalds, Subway and KFC. If you are unsure about their locations one of our friendly staff can direct you.

At our Sunshine West facility there is a cafe just 50 meters walk from our front door that sells a variety of fresh sandwiches, hot food and drinks at a very reasonable price. You are welcome to keep any food purchases on site within our kitchen facilities and make use of our fridges, kitechen benches and other applicances.

Generally our classes begin at 8.00am each day Monday through to Saturday. Some of our classes begin slightly earlier at 7.30am, you will be informed of your class start time via a booking confirmation and a confirmation SMS sent to you a few days prior to your class.

Yes, we offer ample breaks throughout the day. An initial break is provided at 9.45am at which time a food van visits our Ferntree Gully location. Lunch and other shorter regular breaks are provided throughout the day.

We provide all safety equipment necessary for your course including training props and materials. All you need to bring is a sturdy pair of shoes (no thongs please) and adequate clothing. Please note that during winter months the temperatures within our buildings and training areas can be low, please come with sufficient warm clothing on cold weather days.

Yes, once you have been booked in you will receive an e-mail with a workbook and other materials attached. The workbook should be completed prior to attending to ensure maximum time available for practical training. A hardcopy of the workbook and training materials can be provided on request and mailed out to you with sufficient notice.

Guys if you are curious, asking yourself if you should or shouldn’t take the course because you don’t know anything. The only thing I’m going to tell you is go for it. I’m a living witness I’ve went there for 2 of my license not knowing anything but the teachers are just so good at explaining and giving you experience on the machines the best. They were extremely nice, patient, welcomed any questions me and others had and most of all they focused on us learning everything we needed for this course while having fun and making studying easier!!! If you want to feel welcomed and getting that feeling of stress leaving your body everytime you want to study or do a test while training for something new you should definetely contact these guys they are the best!!!Thanks guys for making this an amazing experience for me!!

Very informative and good at teaching in the written and practical lessons and courses I passed my lf forklift first time because I had that support from the team members teaching me. The teachings were easy to understand and just picked it up straight away. I will be back in a month or two to do a white card and a few other licences eventually! Definitely recommend!

I've only attended the Grid-connect install course at this facility and that was a far superior to one I attended at Swinburne years ago. The practice set up in place was more thorough and the trainers had a good level of experience. The course does need to be longer, I'd say 1 week design and 1 week install, but this is a separate issue. I was impressed enough to enrol for the battery course here too.

I had zero knowledge and wasn't confident at all. But the trainers, Tamer, John and Jora are excellent in explaining, especially with examples for a good understanding, they are very patient in teaching the practical skills and theory. Trainers are very lively and engage the class with fun. Higly advise this place. They also provide one-on-one practical class if required with no extra cost. Office staff are excellent too.
