This practical approach guarantees you are well-prepared for real-world job site challenges.

The course runs over three days (8 hours each day), with Days 1 and 2 devoted to Unit of Competency training and assessment, and Day 3 culminating in the High Risk Work Licence assessment.

Before starting, all students are required to complete a pre-course e-learning using our Learner Guide and Workbook, which can be accessed through an online portal. We recommend allocating around 12 hours for this pre-reading to ensure you’re set up for classroom success.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Telehandler Licence training is a course designed to teach operators how to safely and efficiently use a Telehandler, which is a type of material handling equipment used in warehouses and other industrial settings. The training covers topics such as proper operation techniques, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures.

In Victoria Australia, a WorkSafe High Risk Licence is required to operate a non-slewing Telehandler over 3 tonnes in weight. It is highly recommended that operators undergo proper Telehandler training to ensure safe and efficient use of the equipment. Employers are responsible for providing adequate training to their employees.

The cost of Telehandler Licence training in Australia can vary depending on the provider and the length of the course. On average, prices range from AUD $1,700 to AUD $2,500 per person. Some training providers may offer group discounts or on-site training options, which can be more cost-effective for businesses.

The duration of telehandler licence training can vary depending on the provider and the course format. Typically, courses range from 2 to 3 days. Some providers may offer more extensive training programmes that span multiple days, depending on the level of depth and hands-on experience required.

Completing telehandler licence training offers several benefits, including improved safety in the workplace, increased efficiency and productivity, reduced risk of accidents and damage to equipment, and compliance with workplace health and safety regulations. Trained operators are better equipped to handle the equipment and can contribute to a more efficient and safe work environment.

While some providers may offer online components or theory-based lessons, telehandler training requires hands-on experience with the equipment. Most training courses include a combination of classroom-based instruction and practical, on-site training to ensure operators gain the necessary skills and knowledge to safely operate a telehandler.

The frequency of telehandler licence training renewal may vary depending on the employer’s policies and the specific industry requirements. However, it is generally recommended to refresh training every 2 to 3 years to stay up-to-date with the latest safety protocols, equipment updates, and best practices.
