TELEHANDLER LICENCE DETAILS: WORKSAFE HIGH RISK LICENCE
TELEHANDLER TICKET
Our comprehensive telehandler course provides the practical skills and in-depth knowledge you need to operate a non-slewing telehandler with confidence. Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, you will learn the fundamentals of telehandler operations from the ground up. The training is designed to be hands-on, ensuring you spend valuable time in the driver’s seat, mastering the controls and functions of the equipment in a safe and supportive environment. This practical approach guarantees you are well-prepared for real-world job site challenges.
The course runs over three days (8 hours each day), with Days 1 and 2 devoted to Unit of Competency training and assessment, and Day 3 culminating in the High Risk Work Licence assessment.
Before starting, all students are required to complete a pre-course e-learning using our Learner Guide and Workbook, which can be accessed through an online portal. We recommend allocating around 12 hours for this pre-reading to ensure you’re set up for classroom success.
The minimum age to enrol is 18, and students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment prior to admission to ensure appropriate capability.
Our curriculum covers all essential aspects of safe and efficient operation. You will learn how to properly attach, secure, lift, carry, and place various types of materials—a critical skill for worksites across many industries. The course places strong emphasis on job planning and preparation, including safe operation in different environments, selecting and fitting attachments, reading and applying telehandler load charts, as well as working with relevant documentation, policies, and procedures. Understanding and controlling hazards, along with regular pre-start safety checks, are core components throughout your training.
This course awards the nationally recognised qualification 11249NAT Licence to Operate a Non Slewing Telehandler (greater than 3 tonnes), and covers the UNIT OF COMPETENCY NAT11249001.
