SKID STEER TRAINING COURSE STRUCTURE

Our Skid Steer Training Melbourne course includes both practical and theory training. The structure of our course and our small class sizes ensure that students receive maximum time operating the Skid Steer on our simulated worksite. We have some of the best and most experienced Skid Steer Training in the business and you will walk away from this course with confidence and the skills necessary to safely operate a skid steer.

On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued a Plant Operator Card and the corresponding RII Statement of Attainment.

Our Earth Moving Training is conducted at our Earthworks Facility located at 7-9 Hayward Road, Ferntree Gully. During your training course you will have access to our simulated worksite and range of plant including Excavator, Skid Steer, Front End Loader, Backhoe and Roller. During your training you will be taught how to operated the relvant machine including including pre-start checks, maneuvering and many other exercises tailored to your ability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We conduct all Earth Moving Training at our Earthworks facility located at 7-9 Hayward Road, Ferntree Gully Road, VIC 3156.

We have multiple types of plant available for training our students. During this course you will have access to excavators however you also have the option to add extra units such as backhoe, tractor, roller, skid steer and front end loader. We also have various accessories including augers, buckets including quick hitch and trailers to practice loading and unloading. We have a variety of machine brands including Wacker Neuson, JCB and John Deere ensuring that you get maximum exposure to various machines and equipment as possible.

Generally our classes begin at 8.00am each day Monday through to Saturday. Some of our classes begin slightly earlier at 7.30am, you will be informed of your class start time via a booking confirmation and a confirmation SMS sent to you a few days prior to your class.

Yes, we offer ample breaks throughout the day. An initial break is provided at 9.45am at which time a food van visits our Ferntree Gully location. Lunch and other shorter regular breaks are provided throughout the day.

We provide all safety equipment necessary for your course including hi-vis vest and hard-hats where applicable. All you need to bring is a sturdy pair of shoes (no thongs please) and adequate clothing. Please note our earthworks training is conducted outdoors and that during winter months weather can be variable, please come with sufficient warm clothing on cold weather days.

Yes, once you have been booked in you will receive an e-mail with a workbook and other materials attached. The workbook should be completed prior to attending to ensure maximum time available for practical training. A hardcopy of the workbook and training materials can be provided on request and mailed out to you with sufficient notice.

I just completed my LF-Forklift course at START Training and i could not be happier! The facilities and equipment are in perfect condition and if that wasn't enough Sergio and Dan made the experience 10times better! They were extremely nice, patient, welcomed any questions me and others had and most of all they focused on us learning everything we needed for this course while having fun and making studying easier!!! If you want to feel welcomed and getting that feeling of stress leaving your body everytime you want to study or do a test while training for something new you should definetely contact these guys they are the best!!!Thanks guys for making this an amazing experience for me!!

Very informative and good at teaching in the written and practical lessons and courses I passed my lf forklift first time because I had that support from the team members teaching me. The teachings were easy to understand and just picked it up straight away. I will be back in a month or two to do a white card and a few other licences eventually! Definitely recommend!

The two senior excavator teachers are respectful and helpful. The younger one has a quite juvenile and racially biased sense of humor that i don't share. I don' really care myself but i post it here hoping to make it a better world for my son to grow up in.

I've only attended the Grid-connect install course at this facility and that was a far superior to one I attended at Swinburne years ago. The practice set up in place was more thorough and the trainers had a good level of experience. The course does need to be longer, I'd say 1 week design and 1 week install, but this is a separate issue. I was impressed enough to enrol for the battery course here too.
