Our Forklift Refresher Training ensures that Forklift Operator skills are kept up to date and assists in reducing or eliminating undesirable habits and improving workplace safety. The Forklift Refresher Training includes a short online theory component followed by a practical component to assist in improving skills.

FORKLIFT REFRESHER TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

- Must have valid Forklift Licence
- Basic English and numeracy skills. Please let us know if you need assistance with reading or writing
FORKLIFT REFRESHER TRAINING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued a Verification of Competency (VOC) confirming that they have successfully completed Forklift Refresher Training.
Please note that this refresher training does not renew an expiring licence.

OUR FACILITIES
Our Forklift Training is conducted at our all four of our main facilities located at Ferntree Gully, Sunshine West, Campbellfield and Carrum Downs. During your training course you will have access to our simulated warehouse and a range of forklifts including electric, gas, reach and counterbalance. During your training you will be taught how to operate a forklift including pre-start checks, maneuvering, loading pallets onto racking and many other exercises tailored to your ability.
High Reach Forklift Refresher Training is available at our Ferntree Gully Training Centre only.

Where do Start Training conduct Forklift Training?
We conduct Forklift Training at our Ferntree Gully, Carrum Downs, Campbellfield and Sunshine West training centres.
Our Ferntree Gully facility is located at Unit 3, 1825 Ferntree Gully Road, VIC. You can find our building behind Burdens Plumbtec (the large blue building). We conduct Forklift, Order Picker, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform and White Card courses at our Ferntree Gully facility.
Our Sunshine West training centre is located at 16 Enterprise Way, Sunshine West and we also conduct Working at Heights, Confined Space, Elevated Work Platform, White Card and Yellow Card courses at our Sunshine West training centre.
Our Carrum Downs training centre is located at 8 Sonia Street, Carrum Downs and we also conduct Order Picker, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, White Card and Yellow Card courses at our Carrum Downs training centre.
Our Campbellfield training centre is located at 2 The Crossway, Campbellfield and we also conduct Order Picker, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, White Card and Yellow Card courses at our Campbellfield training centre.
What types of Plant do you have for training?
We have multiple types of Forklifts available for training our students including gas and battery powered forklifts. We also have Order Pickers, Counterbalance Forklifts and Reach Forklifts ensuring that you get maximum exposure to the many varieties of forklifts available.
What are the options for lunch and food?
Free breakfasts foods such as toast, jams, peanut butter and a range of cereals
Free fresh fruit delivered frequently to each venue
Free coffee including Cappuccino, Lattes, Espressos etc.

All our venues also have fridges, microwaves and food storage areas available for students use.
In addition to the above all our venues are within close vicinity of cafes, supermarkets and takeaways. Our friendly staff will be able to direct you to the best local eateries.
What time fo the Forklift Refresher classes start?
Generally we run these sessions in the afternoon, after our standard courses. However please refer to the courses available to purchase below for start times at each venue.
Are there any breaks?
Yes, we offer ample breaks throughout the day. An initial break is provided at 9.45am at which time a food van visits our Ferntree Gully location. Lunch and other shorter regular breaks are provided throughout the day.
What do I need to bring with me?
We provide all safety equipment necessary for your course including hi-vis vest and hard-hats where applicable. All you need to bring is a sturdy pair of shoes (no thongs please) and adequate clothing. Please note that during winter months the temperatures can be low, please come with sufficient warm clothing on cold weather days.
Will the training materials be provided to me prior to my class?
Yes, once you have been booked in you will receive an e-mail with all relevant training materials.
I have difficulties with language, literature of numeracy, can I still complete the course?
Yes, we have a dedicated Student Welfare Officer that can assist you with your needs. We have successfully trained thousands of students including those with additional requirements. I had an overall great experience and took a lot of different courses: order picker, forklift, first aid, excavator, front-end loader, heights, and white card. I started off with forklift and since I haven't driven a car for years and haven't got my license it was a little difficult to drive at first, but I got a day of extra practice and became more confident in my driving ability before taking my forklift assessment. After that point I finished my excavator and loader tickets with confidence. The trainers and other staff for all the courses I took were cool and helpful and I had a good time. I'm really happy with the way this trainer COLIN trained the classroom. It couldn't have been any better. In saying that, it was my 2nd attempt as the first trainer just flew through the presentation without ensuring every student understands but I'm not gonna mention any names. I had a First Aid and CPR Training, the trainer was professional and perfect in explaining details and brief the assignment instructions. We had lots of practicals assignments especially how to work with AED. The room was clean, and the practical tools were so hygiene. However the location might be a little confusing but you’ll find it. Overall I’m very satisfied with the training at Start Training.

Was informed by the person onsite that the course was not the right one for what I was looking for, organised to get a refund, the refund gets approved and 2 weeks later I still haven't seen the money back in my account.
