I had a problem with the online courses system, which forced me to reschedule the day of the test and it entailed an additional fee. I felt very frustrated so I talked to Ivanna (she works there) about it, and she understood my problem and ended helping me to book another day for the test without additional fees.to know there's a person you can talk to and help you instead of sending you to some chatbot it's what it's all about. For people who have never driven a Forklift before and are nervous to get their Forklift license I really recommend Start Training.The biggest reason being how accommodating the staffs are. They helped me learn from the ground up, the basic theories to even practical driving skills. The explanations are given in a very clear and simple manner, they helped you correct the mistakes, and are always beside you step by step untill you're able drive and operate the forklifts.And if they feel that you need more training before the test, they'll arrange additional training for you free of charge. So you can be confident during the test.Overall a very welcoming environment.The accommodations are also great, they provide you with biscuits, beverages, clean toilets, and clean break areas. For a first timer this is the best place to start your forklift training.

    FORKLIFT REFRESHER TRAINING STRUCTURE

    Our Forklift Refresher Training ensures that Forklift Operator skills are kept up to date and assists in reducing or eliminating undesirable habits and improving workplace safety. The Forklift Refresher Training includes a short online theory component followed by a practical component to assist in improving skills.

    At Start Training your Forklift Refresher Training will be conducted by one of our highly experienced and skilled Trainers.     On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued a Verification of Competency (VOC) confirming that they have successfully completed Forklift Refresher Training.

    Our Forklift Training is conducted at our all four of our main facilities located at Ferntree Gully, Sunshine West, Campbellfield and Carrum Downs. During your training course you will have access to our simulated warehouse and a range of forklifts including electric, gas, reach and counterbalance. During your training you will be taught how to operate a forklift including pre-start checks, maneuvering, loading pallets onto racking and many other exercises tailored to your ability.

    High Reach Forklift Refresher Training is available at our Ferntree Gully Training Centre only.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    At Start Training we charge a flat fee of $220 for your Forklift Refresher Course. There are no hidden fees or extra charges. If you complete the refresher training to a satisfactory level then you will be issued with a Verification of Competency (VOC) certificate.

    While there is no set period for completing a Forklift Refresher Course we recommend that it is completed at least every 2-3 years. The purpose of the Forklift Refresher Course it to eliminate bad habits and improve safety for you and the workplace.

    A typical Forklift Refresher Course will last from 1-2 hours depending on experience and skill level. At Start Training we charge a flat one off fee for our Forklift Refresher Course and while the majority of students complete this in 1-2 hours those who need a little extra time can do so at no extra charge.

    Yes, we would recommend that a Forklift Refresher Course is complete at least every 3 years, but possibly more frequently if you only use a Forklift sporadically or have identified undesirable hazards. A general rule for most is to complete a Forklift Refresher Course every 2-3 years.

    We conduct Forklift Training at our Ferntree Gully, Carrum Downs, Campbellfield and Sunshine West training centres.

    Our Ferntree Gully facility is located at Unit 3, 1825 Ferntree Gully Road, VIC. You can find our building behind Burdens Plumbtec (the large blue building). We conduct Forklift, Order Picker, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform and White Card courses at our Ferntree Gully facility.

    Our Sunshine West training centre is located at 16 Enterprise Way, Sunshine West and we also conduct Working at Heights, Confined Space, Elevated Work Platform, White Card and Yellow Card courses at our Sunshine West training centre.

    Our Carrum Downs training centre is located at 8 Sonia Street, Carrum Downs and we also conduct Order Picker, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, White Card and Yellow Card courses at our Carrum Downs training centre.

    Our Campbellfield training centre is located at 2 The Crossway, Campbellfield and we also conduct Order Picker, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, White Card and Yellow Card courses at our Campbellfield training centre.

    We have multiple types of Forklifts available for training our students including gas and battery powered forklifts. We also have Order Pickers, Counterbalance Forklifts and Reach Forklifts ensuring that you get maximum exposure to the many varieties of forklifts available.

    Each of our venues have a range of free food items for students including:

  • Free breakfasts foods such as toast, jams, peanut butter and a range of cereals
  • Free fresh fruit delivered frequently to each venue
  • Free coffee including Cappuccino, Lattes, Espressos etc.

    All our venues also have fridges, microwaves and food storage areas available for students use.

    In addition to the above all our venues are within close vicinity of cafes, supermarkets and takeaways. Our friendly staff will be able to direct you to the best local eateries.

    • Generally we run these sessions in the afternoon, after our standard courses. However please refer to the courses available to purchase below for start times at each venue.

    Yes, we offer ample breaks throughout the day. An initial break is provided at 9.45am at which time a food van visits our Ferntree Gully location. Lunch and other shorter regular breaks are provided throughout the day.

    We provide all safety equipment necessary for your course including hi-vis vest and hard-hats where applicable. All you need to bring is a sturdy pair of shoes (no thongs please) and adequate clothing. Please note that during winter months the temperatures can be low, please come with sufficient warm clothing on cold weather days.

    Yes, once you have been booked in you will receive an e-mail with all relevant training materials.
