Full Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction:
This License Renewal Protection Policy (“Policy”) is designed to provide coverage and financial protection for individuals holding licenses that require full renewal after they ahve lapsed, including attendance at a training course and full reassessment. The policyholder, as identified in the contract, will be entitled to benefits outlined in this document.

2. Coverage Scope:
This policy covers the financial costs associated with the full renewal of professional licenses, permits, or certifications held by the policyholder, subject to the terms and conditions specified herein.

3. Eligibility:
To be eligible for coverage, the policyholder must have obtained a valid and active license, permit, or certification from Start Training and must have selected the additional “Licence Renewal Protection” product at the time of purchase. The type and category of the license must be disclosed during the application process.

4. Covered Events:
This policy provides coverage for the following events:
a. Inability to renew a license due to exceeding the renewal period stipulated by the relevant authority e.g. WorkSafe High Risk Licence 12 month renewal period.
b. Exceeding the duration of your temporary licence obtained at the completion of a training and assessment course, for example obtaining a temporary Forklift Licence but failing to apply for your full licence within the 60 days stipulated on your Notice of Assessment.

5. Exclusions:
The policy does not cover:
a. Willful neglect or failure to comply with renewal requirements.
b. Losses incurred due to illegal or fraudulent activities.
c. Losses resulting from pre-existing conditions affecting the license renewal.
d. Loss of income associated with a lapsed licence or ticket.
e. Loss of licence due to a serious breach of conditions of the relevant authority e.g. WorkSafe that would normally prevent issue of a new licence.

6. Policy Limits:
The policy is limited to the customer or student at the time of purchase and cannot be transferred to another person or entity. If this policy is taken out as part of a group booking then Start Training must be informed of what students are covered by each policy purchased.

7. Premiums:
Premiums are determined based on factors such as the type of license, coverage limit, and the policyholder’s history.

8. Policy Term:
The policy term is typically ten years, with options for renewal. Renewal terms and conditions, including any adjustments to premiums or coverage, will be specified in the renewal offer.

9. Claims Process:
In the event of a covered claim, the policyholder must promptly notify Start Training and provide satisfactory evidence that the Licence Renewal Protection was purchased and is valid.

10. Cancellation and Refunds:
The policyholder may cancel the policy prior to completion of the assessment component of the course. Refunds, if applicable, will be subject to the policy makers’s terms and conditions.

11. Review and Amendments:
The policy maker reserves the right to review and amend the terms of this policy, with notice provided to the policyholder in accordance with regulatory requirements.

12. Conclusion:
This License Renewal Protection Policy is a contractual agreement between the policyholder and Start Training, providing financial protection against specified risks related to the renewal of professional licenses. The terms and conditions outlined herein constitute the entire agreement between the parties.

The policy holder will be required to adhere to all Start Training’s terms and conditions, including but not limited to the retest and reschedule policy. Individual policyholders will be required to undertake further training and assessments to obtain a new licence. This will be covered under this Licence Renewal Protection Policy. The policyholder may have additional authority licence fees upon application of new licence.

It is noted that the policy excludes and does not cover individuals for relevant authority licence renewal fees.
