SKID STEER TRAINING COURSE STRUCTURE

Our Skid Steer Training Melbourne course includes both practical and theory training. The structure of our course and our small class sizes ensure that students receive maximum time operating the Skid Steer on our simulated worksite. We have some of the best and most experienced Skid Steer Training in the business and you will walk away from this course with confidence and the skills necessary to safely operate a skid steer.

SKID STEER COURSE OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued a Plant Operator Card and the corresponding RII Statement of Attainment.

When completing your Earth Moving Training Melbourne course with Start Training you will have access to the following:

OUR FACILITIES

Our Earth Moving Training is conducted at our Earthworks Facility located at 18-20 Graham Road, Clayton South VIC 3169. During your training course you will have access to our simulated worksite and range of plant including Excavator, Skid Steer, Front End Loader, Backhoe and Roller. During your training you will be taught how to operated the relvant machine including including pre-start checks, maneuvering and many other exercises tailored to your ability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where do Start Training conduct Training?

We conduct all Earth Moving Training at our Earthworks facility located at 7-9 Hayward Road, Ferntree Gully Road, VIC 3156.

What types of Plant do you have for training?

We have multiple types of plant available for training our students. During this course you will have access to excavators however you also have the option to add extra units such as backhoe, tractor, roller, skid steer and front end loader. We also have various accessories including augers, buckets including quick hitch and trailers to practice loading and unloading. We have a variety of machine brands including Wacker Neuson, JCB and John Deere ensuring that you get maximum exposure to various machines and equipment as possible.

What time do classes start?

Generally our classes begin at 8.00am each day Monday through to Saturday. Some of our classes begin slightly earlier at 7.30am, you will be informed of your class start time via a booking confirmation and a confirmation SMS sent to you a few days prior to your class.

Are there any breaks?

Yes, we offer ample breaks throughout the day. An initial break is provided at 9.45am at which time a food van visits our Ferntree Gully location. Lunch and other shorter regular breaks are provided throughout the day.

What do I need to bring with me?

We provide all safety equipment necessary for your course including hi-vis vest and hard-hats where applicable. All you need to bring is a sturdy pair of shoes (no thongs please) and adequate clothing. Please note our earthworks training is conducted outdoors and that during winter months weather can be variable, please come with sufficient warm clothing on cold weather days.

Will the training materials be provided to me prior to class?

Yes, once you have been booked in you will receive an e-mail with a workbook and other materials attached. The workbook should be completed prior to attending to ensure maximum time available for practical training. A hardcopy of the workbook and training materials can be provided on request and mailed out to you with sufficient notice.

I have difficulties with language, literature or numeracy, can I still complete the course?

Yes, we have a dedicated Student Welfare Officer that can assist you with your needs. We have successfully trained thousands of students including those with additional requirements. He held everyone’s attention for the entire 6–7 hours, which is not easy to do.
